Singer, Alice Cooper, has recently spoken out about Donald Trump being back in office. According to Cooper, the reason Trump was re-elected into office was because the Democrats were “so woke.” According to an article by NME, Cooper spoke about the President returning to office in an interview with The Times. The singer does not normally speak about politics, but makes lighthearted jokes about it. Cooper has a single, “Elected,” which came out in 1972. As a way to promote his single, he would jokingly run for office at every election since that year. 

While speaking about why he thinks Trump had been successful in this campaign, he also referred to a time when the President cheated while they were playing golf. “If any president who plays golf says he doesn’t cheat, don’t vote for them,” said Cooper. “I’m not talking about in competition; if you’re playing an everyday game among friends for bragging rights, then everyone cheats, right? But Trump was good. He can play.” After speaking about the golf games and the extent of their friendship, he then explained why he thought Trump won the 2024 election. “Look, America has been having a slow-motion nervous breakdown for a while now. It got so ‘woke’ with the Biden people, even they thought it was crazy,” said Cooper. “If a guy says to a coworker, ‘I like your new dress,’ that means he now gets fired? That’s crazy…It got so over the top that whoever ran against the Democrats was going to win. America got sick of the stupidness, and all I can say is, in a shooting war, you don’t want a poodle; you want a pitbull.”
