Seattle artist Mike Hadreas, who performs as Perfume Genius, has a new song out called “Clean Heart.” It’s from his upcoming album, “Glory,” which will be released on March 28 by Matador Records. Known for mixing emotional depth with complex music styles, Hadreas continues to explore personal topics like love and redemption in this project.

“Clean Heart” is a hopeful and uplifting song that suggests time can heal all wounds. It features a powerful wordless chorus highlighting Hadreas’ unique vocal style. As the last single before the album launch, it shows how much Hadreas has grown as an artist in both music and lyrics.

“Glory” is an album that includes work with longtime producer Blake Mills and keyboard player Alan Wyffels, along with other artists. The album will explore the complex themes Hadreas has dealt with in his career, giving listeners a rich musical experience about human life. People are excited for this release after hearing the successful singles “No Front Teeth” and “It’s a Mirror.”

The song “No Front Teeth,” with New Zealand folk singer Aldous Harding, is popular for its slow build-up that ends powerfully. The music video, directed by Cody Critcheloe—known for Perfume Genius’ “Queen” video—is highly praised and features captivating surreal visuals (Stereogum, PAPER).

The album’s first single, “It’s a Mirror,” shows a change to a stronger and more straightforward sound for Perfume Genius. While he is known for mixing soft and loud dynamics with emotion, Hadreas combines feelings of brokenness and healing in this song, creating vivid images and deep ideas (Pitchfork, The FADER, Elle).

Hadreas started his music career in 2010 with the release of his first album “Learning”, which drew attention for its emotional songs. Since then, as Perfume Genius, he has continued to grow and push limits with each new album. Notably, albums like the GRAMMY-nominated “No Shape” and highly praised “Set My Heart On Fire Immediately” have helped establish him as an important indie-pop and alt-rock artist (The New Yorker, NPR, Uproxx). To promote the release of “Glory,” Perfume Genius will go on large North American tour, performing in many cities. This tour shows how respected and creative Hadreas is in today’s music scene (Rolling Stone, Paste, Pitchfork).
