Interpol is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album Antics with a handful of shows. One performance will take place at the Kia Forum on Saturday, November 23 with special guest The Walkmen.
The band will kick off their U.S. celebratory performances on November 19 in Chicago, IL, followed by a show on November 21 in Austin, TX and a final performance on November 23 in Inglewood, CA. Special guests Deafheaven, And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead, and The Walkmen are set to join on selected dates. The U.S. leg of the tour follows a full European tour in which Antics will be performed in its entirety.
Ahead of their U.S. anniversary shows Interpol will perform at Bonnaroo on November 18. The band also recently played an intimate Nashville show at The Blue Room at Third Man Records on June 13. Interpol will also join The Smashing Pumpkins on their summer tour.
Interpol formed in 1997 and currently consists of original members Paul Banks and Daniel Kessler joined by Sam Fogarino. The New York-based indie rock band will forever be associated with the post-punk revival scene of the 2000s. Their 2002 debut album Turn On the Bright Lights reached several Top 10 lists from various publications. The band’s sophomore album, Antics, brought them even greater commercial success. With seven studio albums under their belt, Interpol continues to bring in large crowds. Earlier this year, the band held the largest concert of their near 30 year career in Mexico City, in which 280,000 attendees enjoyed a free performance.
