Pearl Jam is back with a new album and an upcoming world tour. The Dark Matter World Tour includes two stops at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Tuesday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 22.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Pearl Jam recently announced their 12th studio album, Dark Matter, set to be released on April 19 via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records. The band also released the record’s title track which includes their iconic 90s grunge roots. Alongside details of the upcoming album, the band also released the tour dates for their supporting world tour. The tour officially kicks off on May 4 in Vancouver, Canada and concludes on November 21 in Sydney, Australia. The US leg of the tour begins on May 10 in Portland, OR and concludes on September 17 in Boston, MA. The world tour features 25 cities across the world, most of which hold two dates. The tour also includes the band’s first hometown show in Seattle, WA since 2018. Supporting acts include Deep Sea Diver, Glen Hansard, Richard Ashcroft, Murder Capital, and Pixies.
For the upcoming tour Pearl Jam is taking part in Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange program where ticket holders can only resell tickets at the original price paid. Despite keeping ticket prices low, Pearl Jam has dedicated $5 per ticket to support its Vitalogy Foundation and donated nearly $30M to effect positive social change, especially in the areas of health, the environment, and arts education. The Vitalogy Foundation is a 501c3 organization founded by Pearl Jam to translate the ethos of their music into tangible positive impacts. Vitalogy focuses on three main areas: environmental causes, homelessness, and indigenous causes.
Pearl Jam debuted the upcoming album at a private event on Wednesday, January 31 at Los Angeles’ iconic venue The Troubadour. The 11-track follow-up to 2020’s Gigaton was produced by Andrew Watt, conceptualized in July 2021 at his Beverly Hills studio while he was working on Eddie Vedder’s Earthling last year.
