Albert Hammond Jr has announced new dates for The On Hiatus Tour set for this fall. Following the announcement of the first set of shows, Albert Hammond Jr has added new dates to his tour set for this September. The tour now includes three shows in Los Angeles, California, two consecutive nights at El Rey Theatre and one stop at the Lodge Room.
Almost immediately following the announcement of new shows, all LA shows sold out. The On Hiatus Tour consists of eight shows across New York and California. Albert Hammond Jr embarks on his first tour in four years starting September 14 in New York City, NY concluding the tour on September 25 in Santa Ana, CA. The tour is in celebration of Hammond Jr’s upcoming album Melodies On Hiatus, set to release on June 23, 2023.
Melodies On Hiatus will be Hammond Jr’s fifth studio album following 2018’s Francis Trouble. The record is set to include a total of 19-tracks with features from GoldLink, Matt Helders, Steve Stevens, and Rainsford. Ahead of the album renowned guitarist and singer-songwriter Hammond Jr released eight new songs from the highly anticipated solo album. The indie artist has also released new music videos and teased the album with a few behind-the-scenes clips of him working in the studio.
Hammond Jr is a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning band The Strokes. He debuted his solo career with the 2006 album Yours to Keep. His critically acclaimed work has been praised by top tier outlets including NPR, Pitchfork, Rollin Stone, Stereogum, and others. Nearly two decades later, Hammond Jr is set to release his fifth solo studio album, Melodies On Hiatus. “My goal is to have my music be part of someone’s life, part of their fabric, and this feels like the best collection of music I’ve made and my best attempt at achieving that,” says Hammond Jr. The indie artist will embark on the On Hiatus Tour this fall celebrating new music with fans from New York to California.
