Greg Puciato headlining at Come and Take It Live on May 31st

If there’s a man who has seen every side of music, it would be Greg Puciato. Lucky for Austin, he will be hitting the stage at Come and Take It Live at the end of this month on May 31st! Puciato is multi-talented, with experience in guitar playing, singing, writing, producing, and dabbles in many other creative endeavors. This is Puciato’s first ever solo tour and quite an exciting moment to witness!

Puciato is best known as the former lead singer of The Dillinger Escape Plan, which was an internationally successful metalcore band. He has always had a love for music and even recorded his first cassette when he was 13 years old. He was always a fan of The Dillinger Escape Plan, so when their lead singer left and they started to look for a new singer, Puciato knew he had to give it a shot. He sent in tapes of him singing in his own unique format and a video of him mimicking the previous lead singer’s style of singing. The band contacted him to interview in person and eventually invited him to join the band when he was 21 years old in 2001. He was with the band until their unfortunate breakup in 2016.

Puciato has been busy since the breakup of his first band. He has created a versatile career for himself, including joining many bands, creating solo albums and starting a record label. He is a member of The Black Queen alongside Josh Eustis and Steven Alexander. In 2016, the band released their first album, Fever Daydream and it debuted at #2 on the Billboard Electronic chart. With the band’s second album in the works, Puciato decided to start his own record label with visual artist Jesse Draxler. The record label was named Federal Prisoner and officially produced The Black Queen’s second album, Infinite Games, on September 28th, 2018. Puciato has expressed the creative freedom he feels with having his own record label and how he uses it to produce music that is near and dear to his heart.

He has also been a part of the bands Spylacopa and Killer Be Killed. Spylacopa is an experimental musical project Puciato participated in with John LaMacchia, Julie Christmas and Jeff Caxide. They released an EP in 2008 written by Puciato. They have not released any new music since 2012. Killer Be Killed was announced in 2013 with members Max Cavalera, Dave Elitch and Troy Sanders. They released their debut self-titled album on May 13th, 2014 and a second album titled Reluctant Hero on November 20th, 2020.

While being in 2 bands, Puciato has also managed to work on a solo career. On March 1st of 2020, he premiered his single, “Fire For Water,” which would make the first single off of his first album, Child Soldier, Creator of God. The album was released on October 9th, 2020. He has since then released his second album, Mirrorcell on June 17th, 2022 and a live album of his show in Los Angeles. The filmed concert was on November 11th, 2022 and the album was released to streaming platforms on March 27th, 2023. Just last month on April 17th, a new band titled Better Lovers was announced and their lead singer is Puciato!

Puciato is known for his incredible vocal range and unique sounds that can be said to mimic a computer. He masters all the vocal styles of heavy metal rock and emulates many genres of music. His live performances have been met with exciting reviews and he leaves a crowd wondering what he will do next. During his time in The Dillinger Escape Plan, he used his body as a machine, banging himself against anything that would shock an audience. He has been known to climb on structures and play with fire. This definitely isn’t a show you want to miss!
