Stockholm-based punk band Viagra Boys will be playing their Shrimp City Beach 1993 Reunion Tour at Union Transfer on Tuesday, February 14th with special guest Lip Critic.
Known for their unapologetically raw live act, Viagra Boys gained popularity through the underground punk scene. With influences such as Screaming Jay Hawkins, Butthole Surfers, Suicide and Dead Kennedys, the band’s music is described as ugly gonzo punk with black humor and satire, matching the band name’s parody of hypermasculinity.
Formed in 2015 with several members coming from bands Les Big Byrd, Pig Eyes, Nine, Neu-Ronz and Nitad, they released their debut album Street Worms in 2018. The record won The Independent Music Companies Association Album of the Year. Their second album, Welfare Jazz, was released in 2021 and followed a year later by their newest album, Cave World.
