Le Butcherette’s frontwoman Teri Gender Bender has released a solo single that exemplifies her stance on feminism titled “The Slow Lean.” The single comes from her new State Of Fear EP that is set for physical release on December 16th this year. State Of Fear is a part of Gender Bender’s double EP, the first being Saturn Sex that was released on October 21st.
The song features Gender Bender’s elegant vocals over an evocative guitar and drum beat. Big Picture Media shares Gender Bender’s inspiration for the song, where she states that “The track is about a woman being with a married man and is tired of waiting for him to make up his mind. She has no other choice but to give him an ultimatum.”
Saturn Sex and State Of Fear follow Gender Bender’s Complexify EP that was broken into 10 EP’s that each had 4 tracks before she decided to separate them further. The tracks are said to evoke the feeling of “cathartic feminism.”
Gender Bender has had a busy year of music releases. Aside from her EP’s, she also released a single featuring Omar Rodriguez-Lopez called “Give Me, Give Me” also shared by Mxdwn.
