Chino Moreno Of Deftones Joins Gojira Onstage For Cover Of Sepultura’s “Territory”

Deftones’ Chino Moreno had to end their co-headling tour with Gojira on a high note. At their last show on Saturday, May 28, Moreno joined Gojira for a special cover of Sepultura’s “Territory.” Check out the fan footage of it below.

The tour was scheduled to take place in 2021 but had been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  The band also got some new touring members for the shows. Fred Sablan (former bassist for Marilyn Manson) took the stage at the tours opener in Portland, Oregon earlier this year and performed two new tracks with the band called “Genesis” and “Lovers.” The news follows the departure of their bassist Sergio Vega.

He recently spoke out on why he left the band. “On a creative level, they were always super open and super cool,” Sergio said in an interview. “And really, when we talk about the other end, the financial end, which is something that I get, you’re Chino and you have dependents.”While he states the motive for him leaving the band was not financial reasons, it was more of feeling belonged  in the band. Because even the publishing was there; that’s fine. It’s purely about belonging; it’s purely about just wanting to [feel] like you’re in it.”

Sepultura just ended their North American tour in April.
