Dawes Announces New Album Misadventures Of Doomscroller For July 2022 Release Alongside Summer 2022 Tour Dates, Share New Single “Someone Else’s Cafe/Doomscroller Tries To Relax”

Folk indie rock band Dawes has been busy lately. They recently shared the news that they will be creating some summertime fun with a new album, MISADVENTURES OF DOOMSCROLLER, and a summer 2022 tour. The new album is set to release on July 22. Ahead of their album release, they shared their first new single from the album titled, “Someone Else’s Cafe/Doomscroller Tries To Relax.”

Split into half, the 9-minute song is a great song to relax to, whether you’re driving in the car with the window down, feeling a nice breeze, or just sitting in your bedroom. About the new single, Dawes’ frontman, Taylor Goldsmith says, “The first half of this song could be about tyrants. But it could also be about anyone who thinks that a little more control is gonna make everything ok. The second half is a response to that developing reality of the first half. The world might be a scary place sometimes but, to some degree, I want to believe I can decide how I respond to it.” The track is available to stream on multiple platforms. It is also available for purchase on iTunes. Or you can listen below!

Their eighth studio album comes after their 2020 album, Good Luck With Whatever. A full-album concert film of the band performing MISADVENTURES OF DOOMSCROLLER is now available but will be taken down at midnight. Along with a summer tour, they plan to headline shows and festival performances to mark the arrival of the album.

Their 2022 tour will begin May 11 in Brooklyn, NY, and carry on throughout July and August with shows in Austin, TX, Salt Lake City, UT, Berkeley, CA and Tisbury, MA. Dawes will also be supporting The Head and The Heart throughout August. The tour will conclude on September 25 in Franklin, TN. The full tour list dates are below.

Anaya Bufkin: My name is Anaya Bufkin, and I am a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I major in Communication with a specialization in mediated communication and technology. I'm very interested in how messages flow to audiences, small or big, and how technology influences communication over time, whether it is socially, politically, or through the workforce. Music is a big passion of mine, and I enjoy learning about new artists, new songs, and understanding how music influences society in many ways. As an intern at Mxdwn, I'm excited to be an influence to other people who have just as big of a passion for music as myself. I hope that my writings are captivating and full of great information, but I also well can't wait to learn more about the entertainment industry!
