In 2008, French heavy metal band Gojira released The Way of All Flesh, which featured the collaborative “Adoration For None.” Despite the fact that Randy Blythe from Lamb of God worked on the song over a decade ago, the musicians have not played the song together live — until last night. According to Consequence, the artists performed the song together in Blythe’s hometown of Richmond, VA, as part of Gojira’s recent tour.

The track instantly dives into deep screaming, sparking the headbanging captured by the fan-recorded video. The audience’s cheering, jumping and fist-pumping to the track might lead one to question how this song has not been played live before when it automatically energizes the crowd.

Gojira and Lamb of God were both featured during Knotfest 2021, which took place in Iowa on Sep. 25. The French band’s current tour was originally intended to end on Oct. 29, but will now conclude on Nov. 10 in Charleston, South Carolina. Next year, the band will be traveling the country with Deftones, moving from Portland on April 14 to Minneapolis on May 28, hitting over 25 cities in between.

On both the current and upcoming tours, the band is likely to share tracks from their recently released album Fortitude. The album topped the Billboard sales charts the week it was released, and is still receiving praise over six months since its debut. Last week, they dropped an animated music video for “Sphinx,” which captured the global aspects of the album that also appeared in the video for “The Chant.”
