After Recovering From COVID-19, Corey Taylor Has Three Slipknot Songs to Record

Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s frontman announces that he only has three songs left to record for the band’s upcoming album. Taylor, who recently shared his positive COVID results, told fans at GalaxyCon some details about the upcoming 2022 release.

Corey Taylor shares his thoughts on how COVID has affected him as he finishes the album: “I was actually supposed to finish my vocals this week. I got screwed, man, [by the COVID diagnosis]. I actually only have really three songs left to do. I’ve done all the other tracks because I’ve been doing ’em in between tours, just fucking hitting it.”

As of last month, Taylor hinted at “pit openers” that would be in the 2022 release. He also said, “It’s an expansion of where we were at on We Are Not Your Kind. This band has always prided itself on expanding boundaries, expanding our musical vision,” according to consequence.

Gasmyne Cox: My name is Gasmyne Cox and I'm an avid reader, gamer, music listener and movie watcher. My major is mass communication with a minor in journalism. While being a senior undergraduate, working with this organization lines up perfectly with what I want to do in the future. Learning has been a huge point in my life and I intend to finish what I start. Aside from all the serious stuff my favorite kinds of music are pop, j-pop, and rap. Also I'm more of a fiction reader I like how I can get lost in other people's creative works. In addition, to that is the games I play are more role-playing, open-world, and solo. The movies I tend to watch vary from what seems interesting to how I'm feeling that day.
