Jinjer Share Heavy Title Track for Upcoming Album “Wallflower”

Ukrainian heavy metal band Jinjer released the title track for their upcoming record, Wallflower, which is set to be released this Friday, August 27 via Napalm Records. Since the album announcement in June, the band shared couple of songs off their newest release, including “Vortex” and “Mediator.”

According to Metalsucks, the band shared a quick insight of what inspired the song, “As the director Basil Pereverzev told us, ‘Never give up and act in due course with the forces of the reality you have chosen for yourself’… ‘Wallflower’ is one of a kind.” The press release continues, “This is a song we have lived through time and time again. Every single note, every percussion hit, every word Tatiana sings is well-thought through and shines. And the story which rolls out in the video is the best compliment to this song. Definitely the most multilayered work we have delivered sonically and visually. We hope that our fans can also relate the video and take something meaningful from it as well.”

The video shows frontwoman Tatiana Shmailyuk in a very artistic fashion. The video starts with a shot of Shmailyuk running home while holding a mysterious red box. The red box is later revealed to be part of a rather peaceful ritual performed by the singer. The box contains materials for traditional sand mandalas. As Shmailyuk keeps working on her art, she’s also seen to engage in some sewing and dancing. The video starts off rather lightly but becomes more intense as it goes on. This is also happening in regards to the song alone. It starts off slow and soft but becomes heavier as time goes on. The song is another reminder of how skillfully Shmailyuk jumps between her straight vocals and her deep screams, making the song even heavier and powerful.
