LA’s Chicano Batman have rescheduled their 2020 US tour once again, which was initially to begin in the summer of 2021, and now will embark this Fall. They’ll be stopping at the massive Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on November 12, 2021. They’re bringing special guests Crumb and Inner Wave along to support the California leg of the Invisible People release tour.
The four-piece group formed in 2008 and draw from a mix of genres including psychedelic rock, soul, funk, indie and prog. Members include Eduardo Arenas, Carlos Arévalo, Bardo Martinez and Gabriel Villa, who banded together over their appreciation for ’60s Brazilian artist Caetano Veloso and Tropicália music. Their influences include classics like The Beatles and soul artists like Curtis Mayfield and Delfonics, but is laced with latin styles and sounds.
With four successful albums under their belt and a handful of singles and EPs, Chicano Batman have made quite a splash in the LA scene, touring with greats like Jack White and playing major festivals like Coachella. Their latest album Invisible People was released on May 1, 2020 and is funky and fresh as ever.
