La Femme has shared their new single, “Le Sang De Mon Prochain,” which is set to appear on the band’s upcoming album, Paradigmes, which will be released on April 2. Along with the track, La Femme released the cinematic, Ilan Zerrouki directed, music video.
Crisp vocals introduce the track with humming synths and a dancing acoustic guitar. The track picks up pace as floating white faces sing in dark shadows. The spell-worked synths and haunting hooks follow a coven of vampires donning black robes and usurping power.
Zerrouki’s music video for the track follows the coven, lips popping in the sky the sing the lyrics and chase a lone vampire. Sultry vocals set the pace for the video, each character flirting with one another as they enjoy their immortal life and supernatural ability.
The Paris-based duo, made up of Sacha Got and Marlon Magnée, formed in 2010. Paradigmes will arrive as their third studio album, following 2016’s Mystere and 2013’s Psycho Tropical Berlin. Ahead of their upcoming album, La Femme also shared the single “Foutre le Bordel.” “Le Sang De Mon Prochain” acts as the album’s sixth single, following “Paradigmes,” “Cool Colorado,” “Disconnexion” and “Le Jardin.”
The band was partially influenced by their numerous travels during the creation of the album, having toured extensively throughout the United States playing festivals such as ACL, Desert Daze, Voodoo Fest, Austin Psych Fest and more. “Geography must be important to us because of the fact we travelled quite a bit over the last few years, and different places brought different inspiration to us,” the band said in a press statement. “We like the folklore of places and what comes out of them.”
