Independent Canadian record label mau5trap released an 18-track compilation today titled we are friends vol. 10. The recent release is said to feature new music from deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Tommy Trash and many others who have been collaborated with in the past. This is the 10th edition of the we are friends series that initially started back in 2012.
deadmau5, the label head, features a newer version of “Arguru 2k19,” which was initially featured on his third album. The entire compilation was made to focus on up-and-coming talent while featuring some of their most unique material. In previous volumes, artists like Rezz, No Mana and ATTLAS were featured and eventually came out to be some of the most successful acts from the label.
mau5trap was founded by deadmau5, who has grown to become one of the most commonly known and respected electronic music producers. According to a press release, mau5trap was voted as one of the “Top 50 Labels of the Decade” by Mixmag readers.
deadmau5 recently collaborated with Wolfgang Gartner to release their track “Channel 43.” The duo have gotten together in the past to release other collaborative tracks such as “Animal Rights” and “Channel 42.”
Although live music events have been far and few between in 2020, deadmau5 was able to play a live drive-in rave show in San Bernardino, CA to end the year. NOS Events Center held the 3-day event starting on December 31 and ending on January 2. The drive-in show was announced in late November with tickets for the New Year’s Eve show selling out shortly after.
