The Circle Jerks Present 40 Years of Group Sex Live at the Ventura Theater 4/2/21

Punk legends the Circle Jerks are playing a show in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their iconic album Group Sex, originally released on October 1, 1980. The commemorative re-issue hit the streets in October 2020, and had just about every punk feeling nostalgic. This album is punk 101 for angsty teens and original fans, so glad to see Group Sex is being dusted off and getting the recognition it deserves. This show will take place at the magnificent Ventura Theater on April 2, 2021 and will include a performance from another iconic punk band, The Adolescents.

The South Bay legends emerged on the punk scene in 1979, formed by former Black Flag vocalist Keith Morris and Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson. They’ve since released six studio albums, one compilation, a live album and a live DVD. Like a bad relationship, they’ve broken up and gotten together more times than one can count, releasing their final album Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities in 1995 before pursuing other musical projects.

The Circle Jerks were initially going to reunite in 2020 for several shows in support of the 40th anniversary of their debut album, including that year’s Punk Rock Bowling. COVID-19 had other plans, and all performances were postponed until 2021. This show will feature a lineup revival with frontman Keith Morris, guitarist Greg Hetson and bassist Zander Schloss. Grab your tickets and get ready to get rowdy and celebrate!
