Scour Soundtrack a Conflagration in New Video for “Flames” Featuring Cannibal Corpse Guitarist Ed O’Brien

The Phil Anselmo-led Scour have debuted a new music video for “Flames,” a song featuring Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien. This new track was accompanied by a gritty music video, which focuses on an all encompassing fire swallowing objects such as effigies and tarot cards.

“Flames” is a hard hitting metal track, with extremely harsh growled vocals, rapid-fire drum tempos and dark, brooding breakdowns that give a feeling of total destruction. O’Brien’s impressive guitar solo is filled with a ton of skilled shredding, as he opens up his part with a discordant shriek, before showing off his technical abilities.

This song was featured on their latest EP The Black, which featured further appearances from Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal and actor Jason Momoa. The project was released on Black Friday and followed the band’s release of Bathory’s “Massacre,” a song that originally appeared on the 1987 record Under the Sign of the Black Mark.

“Flames” follows the release of “Propaganda,” a track filled with an plethora of hard hitting drums and aggressive vocals from Anselmo. The tracks was accompanied by a music video, which compiled a ton of vintage horror clips featuring vampires, disfigured monsters and skeletons that add to the song’s gritty style.

Anselmo has been busy this year with his band Down as well, who recently reunited with Kirk Windstein of Crowbar for the 25th anniversary of the studio album Nola. The group reunited for a live stream performance, which saw the band play through 15 songs. Down also features  guitarist Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity and drummer Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod in addition to Windstein and Anselmo.
