See Psych Rock Legends Strawberry Alarm Clock at the Whisky A Go Go 2/27/21

Los Angeles psych rock legends Strawberry Alarm Clock will be playing a rare performance at the Whisky A Go Go on February 27, 2021. They’ll be supported by guitarist and singer/songwriter Zakk DeBono and his band The Broken Circle. Grab your tickets and get transported a few decades back with the ’60s-era psych sounds of Strawberry Alarm Clock.

The Glendale natives rose to popularity with hit single “Incense and Peppermints” released in 1967. What started as two separate bands, Thee Sixpence and Waterfyrd Traene, morphed into one Strawberry Alarm Clock, who went on to chart five songs, including two Top 40 hits. The group has a long list of past members and associated acts, but their current lineup consists of Mark Weitz (keyboard, vocals), Howie Anderson (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Bartek (guitars, flute, production), Randy Seol (drums, vibes, percussion, vocals) and Gene Gunnels (drums, percussion, vocals). They’ve been making music up through their latest album Wake Up Where You Are in 2012. The band took a long break between the years of 1970-1982, but came back with a new lineup.

SAC have performed alongside notable ’60s and ’70s rock acts including The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jefferson Starship. This intimate show at one of LA’s most famous venues is a bright light for 2021. I wouldn’t miss it!
