The Neighbourhood has released a new song titled “Pretty Boy” with an accompanying music video. “Pretty Boy” is a song that is being released pre album drop for the Neighbourhood. Their upcoming album Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones, will be released on September 25 via Columbia records. This new album is their follow up to their latest album release which was back in 2018 with Hard To Imagine The Neighbourhood Ever Changing.
With a steady beat, and smooth vocals the song is a relaxing anthem about how all you need is the person that you want to be with. The lyrics say, “as long as i got you i’m gonna be alright as long as i got you i’m not afraid to die.”
Throughout the music video you can see the Neighbourhood’s frontman Jesse Rutherford, walking the streets of Los Angeles. The singer is painted completely in silver and carries around his guitar and his guitar case. Rutherford plays for people on the streets and seems to collect only coins from his endeavor. In the video you see Rutherford stopping to eat at a restaurant where he sees a girl and there is an inference that he thinks she is pretty. He goes to the bathroom to take his makeup off and eventually just goes back to an apartment. In the apartment that same girl is there dancing. Towards the end of the video Rutherford is seen struggling with his competition of another street wanderer with a guitar, who has picked up a bigger crowd than he has himself. At the end of the video his “competitor” flips a coin to him and Rutherford sits and smiles as the man walks away behind him.
Just last week the band released another music video for their song “Devil’s Advocate” where they explore the wild west. This single will also be featured on the upcoming album. The man painted in silver who can assumed to be from the album name Chip Chrome can be seen in this music video as well.
