Dance to TOPS Live at the El Rey Theatre 1/15/21

Montreal-based indie-pop duo TOPS are heading on an International tour later this year and are stopping in LA at the El Rey Theatre on January 15, 2021. The duo consisting of David Carriere and Jane Penny, along with drummer Riley Fleck just released a new album this year, I Feel Alive, and will tour in support of this new release.

Since TOPS formed in 2011, they have become one of the most influential underground indie bands, inspiring creative levels of sophistication in the indie-pop scene. Their indie songwriting style borrows from ’80s pop, shoegaze and syncopated funk beats. They have a strong knack for writing catchy songs that would make just about anyone want to dance, including hits like “Petals” and “Superstition Future.” Their latest album is no different, but has a more refined sound than their usual lo-fi aesthetic. Penny’s wistful voice glides over lush synths and and Carriere’s guitar licks.

With four studio albums under their belt, TOPS’ fanbase has spread well beyond Montreal, with Spotify listing Los Angeles, Chicago and Brooklyn as their top listeners. Catch their live performance and let them charm your TOPS off at the El Rey.
