Come Rock Out With Violent Femmes at The Met on June 8

A fusion between punk and folk rock, this group hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are veterans in the music industry, and in their respective genre, having been formed back in 1980. The group currently consists of songwriter Gordon Gano (vocals, guitar), Brian Ritchie (bass), Blaise Garza (saxophone, keyboard), and John Sparrow (drums). However, their lineup has seen 3 members come in and out of the band.

The group found immediate success upon the release of their self-titled debut album, which was released in 1983. This album featured many of their most well-known songs even today, which include Blister in the Sun, Kiss Off, Add It Up, and Good Feeling. I recommend you check out this incredible album if you haven’t already. This album is Platinum certified in the US and 2x platinum certified in Australia. They have released 9 more studio albums since, with their last album coming in 2019 called Hotel Last Resort. They will be coming to the Met on June 8.
