The Met Is Playing Host to Lauv on August 4

Ari Staprans Leff, AKA Lauv, is a singer, song-writer and producer out of Los Angeles, CA. This incredibly talented and creative young artist has only been on the scene since 2015 with the release of his debut EP, Lost in the Light. Lauv was not always such a heartfelt and imaginative song-writer. During much of his time at NYU, he was writing and producing for other artists, but he became inspired to pursue a solo career and adopted the stage name ‘Lauv’, which is Latvian for lion. He has a brief discography, but quality is far more important than quality. Throughout his 1 studio album, 3 EPs, and collection of singles, he showcases his unique style, voice, relatability, and inventiveness as a song-writer and musician.

Lauv actually just released his debut studio album in January of this year, titled ~how I’m feeling~. This 9-song album is a testament to the incredible artist that Lauv is. Having not released a studio album until a couple weeks ago, Lauv has done tremendously well in the industry and had already amassed a huge fanbase. Adding this LP to the resume will only propel his career and fame to new heights. The album contains a little bit of everything, from his well-known hit singles such as feelings and i’m so tired… to new and powerful tracks such as Changes and Drugs & The Internet. Lauv is truly and up-and-coming pop star and you can catch this young sensation when he comes to The Met Philly on August 4.
