My Dying Bride Announce New Album the Ghost of Orion for March 2020 Release

One of United Kingdom’s most celebrated and seasoned gothic doom metal bands, My Dying Bride, have recently announced the release of their forthcoming thirteenth studio album, The Ghost of Orion, via Nuclear Blast Records. Fans of My Dying Bride have been eagerly anticipating the latest musical offering from the band ever since early 2019 and can find solace in a release date for The Ghost of Orion slated for a March 6 release.  This marks My Dying Bride’s debut Nuclear Blast Records album release and the follow up to My Dying Bride’s twelfth full length studio album 2015’s Feel the Misery.

The first single off My Dying Bride’s forthcoming album boasts a firece rock ballad titled “Your Broken Shore.” The blistering chord progressions on the track makes their latest musical offering both aggressive and tragically tender at the same time. Bolstered by the melodically tortured and at times ferociously guttural vocals at the superb helm of My Dying Bride frontman, Aaron Stainthorpe. Incorporating different instruments gives their latest musical offering a classical feel. My Dying Bride’s current touring roster is comprised of Stainthorpe (lead vocalist), guitarists Neil Blanchett and Andrew Craighan, Lena Abé (bass), Shaun MacGowan (violin/keyboards) and Jeff Singer (drums).

According to Brooklyn Vegan, My Dying Bride’s new “…album features guest appearances by cellist Jo Quail and Wardruna vocalist Lindy Fay Hella, and it’s MBD’s first album with new drummer Jeff Singer.” It’s worth noting that all previous album releases from the collective were released via Peaceville Records dating back to My Dying Bride’s debut studio album, 1992’s As the Flower Withers. As previously reported in the aforementioned Brooklyn Vegan article, Stainthorpe spoke about their latest album and what fans can expect to hear off the new record saying, “A new album for a new era of My Dying Bride with fresh faces and a more accessible style compared to some of their past, highly technical releases.”
