Perry Farrell’s Kind Heaven Orchestra to Play the Roxy Theatre on March 20th

There is an inherent appeal to an artist who won’t quit. Most of us, given the chance and sufficient resources would likely quit our jobs, travel for awhile, maybe dabble in whatever creative pursuit we find interesting and generally whittle away our hours in an early retirement. But certain artists have a determination and drive that far outstrips your average citizen, and we’re lucky that they do.

Perry Farrell has never been one for standing still. After founding Jane’s Addiction back in 1985, Farrell has been on an absolute tear, never slowing down for a single second. Beyond his notable accomplishments as the frontman of Jane’s Addiction he founded Lollapalooza, a major music festival that continues to this day, and remains the only person to play every iteration of Coachella to date.

Farrell’s latest project is Kind Heaven Orchestra, a solo project that features members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. The group accompanied him through the creation of his most recent album Kind Heaven, and is now set to tour the United States promoting the record.

While Farrell, in his restless existence, is likely to tour many more times and release numerous albums, it is unlikely that the Kind Heaven orchestra will ever make another appearance. That turns this innocuous show at the Roxy into a once in a lifetime event that any fans of LA punk and alternative absolutely can’t miss.
