Nicole Atkins Shares Vintage Style Video For “A Little Crazy”

Nicole Atkins has released a new video for her song “A Little Crazy,” off of her latest album Goodnight Rhonda Lee, released last year. The album received much praise with mxdwn saying it has “a throwback of sorts to when songs were about big, stage-ready sounds, soaring vocals and sultry tones.” It was also given the “High Fidelity” title. This is the second video released from the album, following “Darkness Falls So Quiet

In a press release, Atkins discusses the new vintage style video and song, stating “A Little Crazy” is one of the most simple yet powerful songs I’ve ever written so I wanted the video to be simple and classic. I met photographer Rett Rogers exactly one year ago from next week. We talked about old Sandro, Old Grey Whistle Test and Midnight Special videos and how I wanted to make something that could have easily been mistaken for one of those. One year later, we made it. I’ve also found great comfort in my cat when I’m feeling a little crazy, so Rett’s cat Huey decided he was ready for his closeup during the middle eight of this song.” The song was also co-written with Chris Isaak, with Atkins stating that they wrote it in a day and “The idea was to channel Roy Orbison, and that desperate feeling you have when bad love becomes obsession.”

The song was also featured on the season one soundtrack of Showtime’s Roadies in 2016. See the vintage style music video below.

Atkins is currently on the road supporting her album and will conclude November 17th in Port Chester, NY. See the full list of tour dates below.
