Khemmis Releases Artistic Visualizer for Hypnotic New Song “Bloodletting”

Metalheads rejoice! One of the most promising new acts to come along in a few years is gearing up for the June 2018 release of their third album Desolation, which is being released by the legendary metal label Nuclear Blast. The Denver, Colorado based band has shared a new illustrated visualizer for their newest song, “Bloodletting.” Desolation is scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018.

The song is a great example of what makes Khemmis such a noteworthy group in the crowded metal arena. Much like their peers (and likely influence) in Mastodon, the band combine deep, clean vocals with crushing guitar riffs and some seriously unholy guitar leads. The visualizer moves between scenes of the four piece metal band jamming out amid massive speakers with classic Orange amps and animated scenes from an exotic, ancient, matriarchal kingdom. The song eventually converges into a combination of spiraling guitar riffs and Phil Pendergast’s hellish growl. This is a song that is equal parts brutal metal and arena ready rock ‘n roll.

The band previously released their debut Absolution in 2015 and their acclaimed sophomore effort Hunted in 2016.

Khemmis has a light touring schedule in the next month or so after finishing up the Decibel Magazine tour with Myrkur, Enslaved and Wolves in the Throne Room at the beginning of 2018. Upcoming dates find them playing in Los Angeles, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, a festival in Montreal, Boston (well, Somerville) and of course their hometown of Denver. Keep an eye out for any new dates when they’re announced.
