Mamby on the Beach might seem like just another in a long line of summer festivals. However the breadth and depth of the June festival may just be enough to change your mind. Mamby is an explosion of art, food, music, and cultural experiences. With amazing local food, makeup, hair and tattoo bars, health and wellness workshops, open mic, games and fun on the beachfront, there is plenty to distract you —until the artists hit the stage that is. 2017’s Mamby’s had an estimated throng of 30,000 strong, enthusiastic for an eclectic cast of bands, electronic-based musicians and hip-hop artists, including Chance the Rapper, Sir the Baptist, Green Velvet, MGMT and Walk the Moon.
This year’s fourth annual show is also dedicated to presenting an entertaining experience to Chicago while also showcasing local talent. This year the Beach Stage will showcase artists such as home- town favorite Common, along with Russ, Gorgon City, Towkio, Moon Boots, and AJR, just to name a few. Over on the grassy knoll that is the Park Stage attendees will be able to enjoy the indie rock sounds of Spoon alongside other artists such as Grizzly Bear, Cold War Kids, Snakehips, and Cupcakke. 2018 Mamby will also bring together DJs Mixmag and Beatport to help curate and host the famed DJ Tent.
For those those still desiring something different, Mamby will still be offering yoga everyday as well as introducing a new Community Village that is dedicated to local and national nonprofit organizations with progressive missions. The Community Village will host a stage featuring talent from Young Chicago Authors and other surrounding neighborhoods.
Tickets are available at the Mamby website now. See the entire artist roster on the official flyer below.
