31st Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert Announces 2018 Lineup Featuring Blood Orange, Angel Olsen and Stephin Merritt

The 31st annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert has announced the lineup for the event on March 3rd at The Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This year’s lineup includes Blood Orange, who has performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Angel Olsen, who released Phases and covered David Bowie’s “Five Years”, and Stephin Merritt, who has released 50 Song Memoir with his band The Magnetic Fields.

According to the press release, this year’s show will take on a special significance as cultural conversations continue about equality and human rights. Through the 30 years, the concert has been bringing attention to this issue through different performances such as Alabama Shakes, Iggy Pop, Miley Cyrus and David Bowie. This year Resistance Revival Chorus will be delivering a message of female empowerment.

The current lineup is the following: Philip Glass, Blood Orange, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Rhiannon Giddens, Angel Olsen, Stephin Merritt, Resistance Revival Chorus, and Techung. More is expected to be announced. Tickets for the event range from $35 to $200. Tickets are available through the Carnegie Hall.

UPDATE (3/6): Award winning artist Patti Smith will be joining the lineup that will be performing at the benefit concert. A few artists such as Carly Simon, and Los Vega have also been added to the lineup. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Uma Thurman and Arden Wohl are Honorary Chairpersons.
