Yo La Tengo have announced Spring 2018 tour dates, kicking off the tour at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. The indie rock band, formed in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1984, released their latest LP Stuff Like That There in 2015. The band is led by members Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley, and James McNew. Kaplan covered Alex Chilton-led Big Star’s Third album with other artists back in 2016. The band hasn’t been up to much since then, but there are speculations about new music.

To fans that are wondering if this lengthy tour means a new record is in the works, Matador (the label YLT are signed to) says “You are free to speculate whether or not these shows may or may not have something or other to do with new recordings that are typically played on turntables, compact disc machinery, car stereos, telephones, etc. Though we shall not confirm or deny anything of the sort, we are powerless (sadly) to stop you from wondering out loud just what’s happening.”

Amber Washington: Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, majored in Media & Professional Communication. I play tennis and am always on the lookout for new music, very grateful for Apple Music. I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
