U.S. Girls Share Feminist Revenge Fantasy Video for “Velvet 4 Sale” from New Album In A Poem Unlimited

Meg Remy has announced her sixth album as U.S. Girls which is titled In a Poem Unlimited. The new album includes the recently released single “Mad as Hell,” as well as a new one “Velvet 4 Sale.” A new music video came with the latter, a feminist revenge fantasy video set to a slow-burn groove that faces inequality and abuse. “Although I hope this never happens and I completely disagree that violence is ever effective, this very idea was ripe for a song,” Remy says of the video. Co-directed by Remy and Alex Kingsmill, stars Remy as a police officer who finds out that a fellow cop has beaten his wife. See the video below.

Last year Remy performed at the Polaris Music Prize ceremony in Toronto. Many of the new album’s songs were played on U.S. Girl’s fall tour. In A Poem is due February 16 via 4AD. See the tracklist below.
