The Staves and yMusic have just released new song “Silent Side.” Sister act the Staves collaborated with New York-based chamber ensemble yMusic on a new album The Way Is Read, and have shared a new song from the record. They have just gotten together to collaborate for a second time, after performing a live piece together in 2016. They have also recently released a new single “Trouble On My Mind,” a slow folk ballad. The new track “Silent Side” appears on their collaborative upcoming album The Way Is Read set to release on November 24th.
The two and a half minute song begins with soft vocals from The Staves and a serene woodwind hum, as it progresses into a tune-ful, slow paced composition. The harmony from the chorus floats as the rock trio sings “You are my silent side (Only you, only you)” on repeat until you can’t help but hum along too. Listen to “Silent Side” below.
