According to Stereogum, last week, Chvrches announced All The King’s Men, the followup to 2021’s Screen Violence. So far the Scottish synthpop band has shared “Roses” and debuted the unreleased “Conman” live. And now, the band has released the second single “Overthinker.” Lauren Mayberry, who released her debut solo album Vicious Creature in 2024, says “Overthinker” is about a relationship with “someone who is your shelter and your storm.”
The song is a massive and sweeping power ballad that is accompanied by a music video that depicts Mayberry singing in front of a bouncy house that deflates dramatically at the end. As for the music, the tune is fabulous by how the ballad is filled with strong and bold emotions that brings the feeling of wanting to be with one who keeps us together through our difficult times. Surely, there are a lot of people who can relate to this stunning ditty.
