Lizzy Plapinger’s work history is pretty impressive. Her career consist of taking on the position of lead vocalist of indie pop duo MS MR as well as co founding a boutique record label called Neon Gold Records which has launched debut releases and international careers of Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Gotye, Marina and the Diamonds and many more. 2017 seems however to be the year where Plapinger plans to add solo artist to her work experience. In January the indie pop singer, now going by LPX, released a song “Tightrope,” then a couple months later in April she the second song “Tremble,” both singles for her upcoming debut EP Bolt In The Blue which is schedule to be released next year on January 12TH 2018. However before her EP comes out, LPX has recently dropped her third single “Slide,” which she describes as a “tortured love song.”
According to a press release, LPX believes that her new single “Slide” displays the positive and negative effects love can have on a person stating “‘Slide’ is equal parts passion and infatuation, anger and disbelief. It only hurts this much because it was that good, a double edged sword that keeps on digging.” LPX later on discussed how working with Jenn Decilevo, co-writer and producer of the single, helped her get the emotions and proper sound to complete the record stating “On a personal note, working with Jenn was one of my first experiences ever working with a female producer and it was a uniquely different and liberating moment just being two women in the studio that is deeply meaningful to me. Jenn seamlessly pulled out all the emotional and sonic nuances of what I wanted to communicate.” Below you can checkout the tracklist to LPX’s debut EP Bolt In The Blue and her new single “Slide.”
