Linkin Park Debut New Song “Looking For An Answer” At Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington Concert

Linkin Park performed their first show last night since their lead singer’s (Chester Bennington) passing in July, as mentioned by the PRP.  The band played Oct. 27th at the Hollywood Bowl, a sold out show.

During the show Linkin Park debuted a new song “Looking For An Answer.” Mike Shinoda, the band’s cofounder, wrote the song about a week after Chester’s passing, and he mentioned during the concert that he was unsure if the song would develop or even be released in the future: “I want to share this song with you. I don’t know if it will ever become anything more, but I want you to see the process of what goes into making a song.”

The lyrics for the song weigh in on the tragedy of Bennington’s death: “I keep reaching for the light / I can’t find it anymore / There’s an emptiness tonight / A heavy hand that pulls me down . . . Was I looking for an answer when there never really was one.” Shinoda also stated that it was undecided if the band would go on without Chester. The concert was a tribute to the life of Bennington featuring a plethora of well known artists including members of No Doubt, Korn, System of a Down, Blink-182 and more.
