Catch an opportunity to see Queens of the Stone Age live at Inglewood’s The Forum featuring special guest Royal Blood on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 in support of their new album Villains. Tickets go on sale to the general public this coming Friday, Oct. 27 at 10am. Ticket prices are set to range from $34.50 to about $60. The trek to Inglewood for the event will be worth it.
Doors to the event will open at 7 pm, and it’d be best to get there early. The band is already touring throughout the States and Europe, according to Spin, and have sold out every show on their current North American leg. Spanning across the western half of the United States, over 10 dates are planned for the tour. The tour begins Jan. 22 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and ends Feb. 17 in Los Angeles.
The bands’ latest album debuted at No. 1 in the U.K., Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland and Portugal, No. 2 in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Norway and Ireland, No. 3 on the Billboard 200, No. 4 on Japan’s international chart and No. 5 in Italy — easily the single biggest global sales week of the Queens’ seven-album stretch, as previously reported by mxdwn.
With production by by Mark Ronson, the record was released this summer via Matador Records. During the first week of sales, the album sold almost a hundred thousand vinyl LPs worldwide, becoming the No. 1-selling vinyl full length album in the U.K., U.S. and Germany. Villains also surged to the top of U.S. charts, stealing No. 1 spots on the Alternative, Hard, Rock, Internet and Independent Label album charts and No. 2 on the Digital Album sales chart, as previously reported.
Hailing from Palm Desert, California, Queens of the Stone Age is an iconic hard rock band. Beginning in 1996 after the end of vocalist Josh Homme’s other band, Gamma Ray. The band released their self-titled album in 1998, which was mostly recorded by Homme, featured Alfredo Hernandez on the drums and Chris Goss on backing vocals. After its release, the band expanded and gained a bassist, Nick Oliveri, a drummer, Joey Castillo, and a guitarist, Dave Catching.
Their second album Rated R was released in 2000. The album got much more notice than their debut. The band frequently toured but was able to put out Songs For The Deaf, which quickly became critically acclaimed. In 2005, the band released the album Lullabies to Paralyze. Two years later came Era Vulgaris, and in 2013 came the album …Like Clockwork. The band has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards, winning in 2003 for best special effects in a video for their single “Go with the Flow”.
