It’s been almost a week since rock and roll legend Tom Petty passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on October 2nd 2017. And as the world continues to mourn over the loss of Petty many artist such as The National, Fleet Foxes, Wilco and Kesha and many more have taken time to perform covers of the legendary singer’s timeless hits. Below we have a list of artists paying tribute to Tom Petty by performing some of the late rock star’s classic songs.
After a moment of silence for Petty, Coldplay did a cover of “Free Fallin” off the Full Moon Fever album at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
During his concert at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz., Father John Misty gave a performance of the late singer/songwriter’s song “To Find a Friend,” found on the album Wildflowers.
Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Cyrus paid the respect by performing Petty’s self titled song “Wildflowers” off the album Wildflowers on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Against Me! covered “Runnin’ Down A Dream” off the Full Moon Fever album in tribute to Tom Petty at the House Of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio.
Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Dave Matthews and Patty Griffin come together at Moore Theatre in Seattle Washington to cover “Refugee” off Damn The Torpedoes album.
Phoebe Bridgers performing “It’ll All Work Out” off the Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough) album at Baby’s All Right in New York City.
