The JanSport Bonfire Sessions 9/16 Featuring Monte Booker, Pell And The Molochs

JanSport and Noisey are collaborating on the latest installment of “The JanSport Bonfire Sessions”. The outdoor concert series will return to Los Angeles Sept. 16 to showcase artists Monte Booker, Pell and The Molochs. The event is set to bring music lovers, bands, and a bonfire together over a cool, relaxing Saturday night; attendees will have complimentary drinks provided by Golden Road, as well as free JanSport gear.

JanSport was founded in 1967 in Seattle, Washington by three trailblazers in the outdoor industry. Though the company, a division of VF Outdoor, LLC, began by manufacturing renowned outdoor backpacks, today they offer a wide range of products, including outdoor gear, daypacks, and travel gear sold throughout the world.

VICE began Noisey as a way to document upcoming music across the globe with a heavy microscope. Since 2011, Noisey has quickly grown into a successful music brand all over the world, possessing some of the most popular music documentaries on the web, a TV show on VICELAND and even a radio show on Apple’s Beats 1.

Chicago native Monte Booker, a member of Soulection, is the headliner for the event. The 20-year-old producer has been making a living expertly blending the sounds of hip hop, R&B, soul and intricate, uplifting electronic melodies into explosive and unique tracks. He’s heavy into percussions and devoid of samples, resulting in some of the smoothest instrumental tracks to come out of that music scene right now.

Like a breath of fresh air, Booker, influenced by jazz, electronic sounds and Flying Lotus, has helped Soulection garner hundreds of hundreds of thousands of views through their White Label Series. The White Label Series is a 2-4 track EP highlighting the artist and showing off their talents. The track “Kolors” featuring South Side Chicago artist Smino currently has over 4.3 million views on Soundcloud. Booker is in a collective called “zero fatigue” with Smino and another South Side Chicago artist, Ravyn Lenae, according to Booker’s biography on Soulection’s website.

Pell is a New Orleans-raised rapper and musician. Self-describing his genre on Facebook as “experimental soul,” Pell’s debut LP Floating While Dreaming has amassed an incredible amount of streams on Spotify, his entire catalog boasting over 50 million streams on the streaming site alone. His follow-up LIMBO is also available now for pre-order with an instant download of the track “Café Du Monde” at pellyeah.com.

RSVPs for the event can be made at http://www.jansport.com/music-and-more/bonfire-sessions.html. The event is free admission, given that you’re of legal drinking age.
