Jawbreaker Reunite After Over 20 Years to Play Secret Warm Up Show Ahead of Riot Fest 2017 Set

Four months ago it was reported that after a bad 21 year breakup, punk rock trio Blake Schwarzenbach, Adam Pfahler & Chris Bauermisler better known as Jawbreaker decided to reunite at this year’s Riot Fest. After putting out three independent albums such as Unfun, Bivouac & 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, the three Bay area base punk legends became prominent names of the 1990’s emo movement. Sadly that journey would come to an end after the release of their fourth & first major label album Dear You. Since then Schwarzenbach, Pfahler & Bauermisler haven’t been seen playing together since the group went on tour opening up for the Foo Fighters two decades. Well that all changed this month when Jawbreaker decided to do a little warm up before rocking out at Riot Fest.

This past Thursday Jawbreaker reunited for the first time in 21 years & performed a secret show at the Ivy Room in Albany, California. According to Brooklyn Vegan, the punk rocked trio came to the 200 capacity venue as a way to shake off the rust & get ready for the big performance at Riot Fest on Sunday September 17th. The three rockers looked like they haven’t missed a beat, starting the show off with frontman Schwarzenbach reciting John Keats poem “Ode On A Grecian Urn” before he & his band mates performed. From then, the punk titans would have the whole crowd jamming to their hits like “The Boats Dream From The Hill,” “Condition Oakland,” “Chemistry Ivy” & many more. Below you can checkout Jawbreaker’s performance at the Ivy Room as they prepare for rock the house at Riot Fest.
