Bleachers @ The Foundry 11/16

Bleachers is an American indie pop project founded by songwriter Jack Antonoff, a member of the bands Fun. and Steel Train. Bleachers have been known to gather sounds from the 80s and 90s pop music while mixing modern sound to create a new sound. The New York based act released their first single, “I Wanna Get Better” back February 2014. Bleachers debut album, Stange Desire, peaked at no. 11 on Billboard 200 Chart in 2014. The band is currently signed with RCA Records.

While on tour with the pop band Fun., Jack Antonoff began writing and working on a side project. The project remained a secret before “I Wanna Get Better” was released on February 18, 2014, via RCA Records. The lead single from the debut album, Strange Desires, topped various music charts including Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The single became the band’s first number one single while also reaching the top ten Hot Rock Songs chart. The single was certified gold by RIAA, selling 500,00 units in the US alone. Bleachers released their debut album, Strange Desires on July 15, 2014 by RCA Records. The second single off the album, “Rollercoaster” peaked at number No. 3 on the US Alternative Rock Songs chart.

Bleachers released a squeal to Strange Desires titled Terrible Thrills Vol. 2. The LP featured various artist covering songs from Strange Desires. Bleachers released their second album, Gone Now in June 2017. The album peaked at No. 44 on US Billboard 200 Charts and No. 6 US Top Alternative Albums Chart.  The album featured vocals from Lorde, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more. Bleachers is currently on their Gone Now Tour.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
