It’s been 25 years since KLF broke up. The electronic band from London, England started out in the late ’80s consisting of Bill Drummond & Jimmy Cauty under the name The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, named after the fictional conspiratorial group from the series of three novels called “The Illuminatus! Trilogy.” The acid house group would go on a journey creating a discography of hits such as “”Doctorin’ the Tardis,” “3 a.m. Eternal,” & “Last Train to Trancentral,” that would sadly come to an end 1992.
In the beginning of this year it was reported by that duo hinted of a possible comeback but that rumor quickly fizzled out when it was clarified that the actions were of the two UK producers working in their light industrial unit & that their work wouldn’t be released to the public until August 23rd.
According to Brooklyn Vegan, August 23rd will be the day the KLF will release their novel “2023: A Trilogy,” published by Faber & Faber, & will be hosting an event called “Liverpool: Welcome To The Dark Ages.” The three day symposium will begin on August 23rd & will end on August 25th. The specifics to event are as such:
The flyer reads:
“Liverpool: Welcome To The Dark Ages.
The three days are the 23rd, 24th and 25th of August 2017.
The titles of each of these three days are:
Day One – Why Did The K Foundation Burn A Million Quid?
Day Two – 2023: What The Fuuk Is Going On?
Day Three – The Rites of MuMufication.

There are no guest lists.
There are no press passes.
Every one of the 400 ticket holders will be expected to be Volunteers.

To clarify how the event would be like & if the duo was going to perform KLF stated “There will only be 400 tickets available. There are no guest lists. There are no press passes. Every one of the 400 ticket holders will be expected to be Volunteers. WARNING: The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu in any of their various past, present or future guises will not be performing music.”
