Regina Spektor Announces A Very Special Solo Performance Fall 2017 Tour Dates

Regina Spektor announced today the dates for her upcoming tour, A Very Special Solo Performance. The tour will span from October 20th until November 19th, across the country from Tuscon, Arizona, to New Haven, Connecticut.

Spektor, who just completed a sold-out tour in the spring of this year, has garnered widespread acclaim for her newest album, Remember Us To Life from Sire/Warner Bros. Records. The album can be purchased or streamed here. Some of the most prestigious publications praising Spektor’s album include NPR, Esquire, Rolling Stone, New York Magazine, and People.

Esquire refers to Spektor as “Our generation’s Joni Mitchell,” noting that the artist “has long made a habit of spinning fictional, winding tales into songs that utilize humor and absurdity for the purpose of pointed social commentary. Her new LP is no different.” Rolling Stone seconds Esquire in describing Spektor’s storytelling; “A pop eccentric wraps underdog storytelling in brilliant songcraft.” Other descriptions of Spektor’s tour include such affectations as “soul-moving,” and “whimsical.”

If two tours in one year isn’t enough, fans will be pleased to hear Spektor as a guest artist on upcoming records from ODESZA and Gogol Bordello. Spektor has also in projects spanning all forms of musical entertainment, such as The Hamilton Mixtape, and Orange Is The New Black, spurring the NY Post to describe her as “a key reference point in American pop culture.”

Conrad Brittenham: My name is Conrad. I am one year out of college and pursuing a career in writing and journalism. I studied literature at Bard College, in the Hudson Valley. My thesis focuses on the literal and figurative uses of disease in Herman Melville’s most famous works, including Moby-Dick, Benito Cereno, and Billy Budd. My literary research on the topic of disease carried over to more historical findings about how humans tend to deal with and think about the problem of virus and infectivity. I’ve worked at a newspaper and an ad agency, as well as for the past year at an after school program, called The Brooklyn Robot Foundry. All of these positions have influenced the way I approach my work, my writing, and the way I interact with others in a professional setting. I’ve lived in London and New York, and have always had a unique perspective on international cultural matters. I am an avid drawer and a guitarist, but I would like to eventually work for a major news publication as an investigative journalist.
