Paramore Announce 2018 Parahoy! Festival Cruise

More and more artists are looking for different ways to generate revenue or interact with fans. Not a new way but slowly becoming more popular, cruises have emerged as a strong option for acts to make money. Such an emergence that according to PITCHFORK, Paramore has announced that there will be a third edition of their Parahoy! interactive cruise in 2018.

The cruise will take fans across the world starting in Miami and stopping in the Bahamas. Running from April 6th-10th, the festival will include a Q&A session with the group offering fans a chance to get closer to their favorite act that they ever thought that they could. Along with the Q&A, Paramore will offer “Paraoke,” which is their own take on the famous game of karaoke. To generate hype before the cruise, if people buy tickets during the pre-sale period they will gain access to a live acoustic concert.

Now, you may be wondering if there will be guest musicians like in years past? Well, keep your hopes high because it is very likely – the cruise’s site says that the band “will be inviting some of their favorite artists to join them.” There is a chance they are saving something for the cruise. Adding to the anticipation to potential guests is the history of guests like Tegan and Sara, Chvrches, New Found Glory and many more.

Paramore have been in the news for other less positive reasons over the last few years. According to STEREOGUM, they just settled a lawsuit with Jeremy Davis, a former bassist who left the band and later sued for improper compensation for his contributions to the group. Paramore’s argument was that Davis was only an employee of the band and therefore was not entitled to the same sorts of royalties as the permanent band members gained. Paramore settled the suit for an undisclosed amount.

Not letting the lawsuit keeps them down, Paramore let it all out on the stage recently with a live performance that featured a cover of a song by The Strokes titled “Someday.” Check out the performance below.

After checking out their recent cover of The Strokes “Someday”, watch their recently released video for “I Told You So” below. It will be on their just-released new album After Laughter, which will be once again produced by the esteemed Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
