Singer/songwriter Amy Lee just released a new music video for her song “Speak to Me,” a melodramatic ballad that’s beautifully haunting. Not surprisingly, the music video follows the same tone opening with a black and white shot of an emotional Lee, continuing with shots of her walking through a garden with a lone little boy, surrounding a beautiful gothic-style castle. The video is just over five minutes and has already racked up 600,000 views on YouTube after a mere four days online. Click below to check out the video.
The video was made for and is slightly similar an upcoming film called Voice from the Stone, a tear-jerking story about a young woman who is left to take care of a child after the loss of its mother.
“As a new mother myself, the film resonated very deeply with me,” said Lee. “I had the opportunity to work closely with Eric Howell, who directed the film, and Michael Wandmacher, who composed the score. I was very moved by the movie, and after having my first conversation with Eric and Michael, I felt a surge of inspiration and immediately began writing,”
“Speak to Me” is one of Lee’s newest songs, along with “Love Exists” which was just released in February. Just last year, she dropped a new album entitled Dream Too Much and released several music videos for it as well, including “If You’re a Star,” and the title track “Dream Too Much.” For Evanescence fans, the future is bright as the singer confirmed last October that Evanescence indeed has a future.
