The Bataclan venue in Paris, France has finally reopened a year after the Paris terror attacks with the artist Sting, and theres been conflicting reports about whether or not Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death was refused entry or not. According to reports, EoDM’s member Jesse Hughes was denied entry due to comments he made regarding the venue security’s involvment with the attacks. He later apologized for the comments, but invalidated the apology when he made the same comments in a following interview.
However, in a statement with EoDM, general manager Marc Pollack claimed that Jesse never even tried to go into the show. “Jesse is in Paris to share in remembering the tragic events of a year ago with his friends, family and fans.” He contiuned by saying the club’s co-director Jules Frutos “feels the need to soil his own club’s reopening by spreading false tales to the press, and tainting a wonderful opportunity that could’ve been used to spread peace and love, to further spread mean spirited words of hate.”
Due to Hugh’s comments about the Paris Terrorist Attacks, they have been dropped from french festivals. They’re sure to headline several other festivals in the upcoming year, as they killed their performances at festivals including Pukkelpop and Sweetlife. They will be performing at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City on Nov. 20.
