According to Blabbermouth, Evanescence singer and co-founder, Amy Lee, has released the animated video for her title track “Dream Too Much” off her upcoming new children’s album.
The new video opens up in a colorful childlike world where jellyfish roam the sky and everything is made out of cardboard animation. Vibrant scenes of flying toast, an under-water world, and inanimate objects coming to life come across the screen as Amy Lee’s vocals begin. It is tough to imagine a former female punk-rocker transitioning to children’s music, but Lee seems to do it flawlessly in this new track. The lyrics are something out of a child’s book “There’s a monkey in the band/ the muffins are sleeping/ and the tiger’s in the sand” with the ukulele playing rhythm in the background.
It is a very playful song that seems to encompass what a child’s dream would look like and the characters that would show up. Lee is providing a very bubbly and entertaining way for children to hear inspiring music, and the animation that goes with it could not have been matched more perfectly.
This new album, which includes seven original tracks and five popular songs, was written by Lee using her 2-year old as inspiration, and with the helping hand of her entire family. she was able to put this LP together. The album will be released via Amazon, and will be made available to Prime members on September 30th.
