AAHH! Fest @ Union Park 9/24 – 9/25

Yet another Chicago music festival looms on the horizon. Except for the fact that AAHH! Fest is unlike any other fest hosted in Chicago (and that’s saying a lot). The brainchild of Common, this fest only puts the very best in R&B and soul music up on their stages. Not only that, but Common’s mission is to bring community and jobs to his hometown of Chicago. Meanwhile, the profits from the festival go back into Chicago’s best non-profit organizations.

The idea behind the fest is that the first day is a Common Day for all ages to attend and experience the festival for roughly $20. This includes performances by Tink and Taylor Bennett, as well as Chicago’s top talents. It gives the opportunity to local youth and adults to audition and have a chance to show off their talent on the festival stage.

The Main Stage day is Sunday, and boy is the lineup killer. Two of the most prolific superstars in R&B will be there: J. Cole and The Roots. And let’s not forget that Common himself will also be performing. The price for this day is a bit steeper, but not at all expensive when you consider that it is a music festival with tons of great acts. Other acts on the Main Stage day include Vic Mensa, Jeremih, The Internet, Sir The Baptist, and a couple others. This is one fest you don’t want to miss.
