Released via Apple Music, Jamie xx just dropped a new video for single “Gosh”. The track can be found on Jamie’s debut album as the opening song, In Colour, which was released in June 2015. Read more about the album here. The video is the second release of the track “Gosh”.
The strikingly beautiful video was directed by Romain Gavras , who is famed for working with big names in the industry. He directed for the M.I.A “Born Free” and “Bad Girls” videos, also Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “No Church in the Wild”, off the mega successful album Watch the Throne, among others.
The video presents a unique vision of the song and features a cast of over 400 actors created without the use of special effects whatsoever, which is shocking because the visuals are just so stunning. Especially when you see, what seems like, each of the 400 actors, standing in window sills of towers stretching into the skies.
Shot in the Chinese town of Tianducheng, the video captures an “army” running down stairs to unknown territory, capturing a 354-foot tall replica of the Eiffel Tower in the landscape. As the video continues the army grows and stands before its leader. The energy of this video flows well with the song. And by the end of it everyone moves as if they were one, standing underneath the Tower.
