Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist Courtney Barnett will be performing at the Glass House on April 14 as part of the Coachella Sideshows this year. She is currently nominated for Best New Artist for the Grammy Awards and for International Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards.
Last year, Barnett released her debut album “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.” The indie rock album made it high on many lists for best album, including on AV Club, Stereogum, Pitchfork and NME. For anyone looking for a fresh new sound with strong vocals and quirky lyrics, don’t miss out on Courtney.
Also on hand is the band Alvvays is an indie rock band forming in 2011 consisting of vocalist Molly Rankin, keyboardist Kerri MacLellan, guitarist Alec O’Hanley, bassist Brian Murphy, and drummer Phil MacIsaac. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2014, peaking at number one on the U.S. college charts. They are currently working on a second studio album.
Coachella will be in Indio from April 15 to 17 and April 22 to 24. Many of the bands on the lineup will play sideshows in venues throughout Los Angeles during their time in SoCal. Be sure to catch Courtney at the Glass House (and many other great artists) while they’re in town for Coachella!
