Danish electropop-princess, MO just unveiled the new video for the smash-single from her forthcoming second full-length studio-effort she released earlier this month, “Kamikaze.” Finely-crafted under her creative-collaboration with Diplo, MO‘s brand-spanking-new video has a lot to to scream about in terms of sheer-ferocity and vision.
“Kamikaze” is a visceral conceptualization helmed at the directorial-hands of the gifted, Truman & Cooper. Filmed in the rough-and-rugged streets of Kiev, Ukraine, the narrative issues: full-on car-chases on an extended-stretch of highway, interpretive dance-breaks, and violent explosions, pitting MO herself at the center of recklessness and abandonment in a post-apocalyptic measure of chaos. The video is a clear “tip-of-the-hat” to the vehicular-exhibitionism illustrated vividly in last summer’s hit blockbuster: Mad Max: Fury Road.
MO(born Karen Marie Orsted) reveals her creative-interpretations of the striking-video:
“‘Kamikaze’ is a happy party song, but at the same time also about being lost and restless. What I really like about this video is that it embraces both those aspects: the party vibe – the friendships and the happiness – but also the darkness, the craziness and the doom. And it’s not just the song that has that duality, it’s very much who I am.”
